Samantha Downing’s deliciously dark debut crime novel My Lovely Wife (Berkley) follows a married couple with a unique way of keeping the spark in their relationship alive… serial murder. The book follows a pair ordinary suburban spouses whose date nights involve murder.
Narrated in the first person by Millicent’s husband, the novel immerses readers in a mentality and worldview that justifies the unthinkable – and does so with spine-tingling authenticity. Crime readers will enjoy reading from the perspective of a well-drawn villain. Downing lives in New Orleans.
“A knockout… an effortless page turner.”—Publishers Weekly
“Leland Sundries, a band from New York led by Nick Loss-Eaton, is dedicated to storytelling in a way that recalls Woody Guthrie and his Folkways brethren. [Their] scrappy Americana will get you longing for empty two-lane highways and kudzu-encased back porches.” – New York Times
“Oddball storytelling with a lo-fi country sensibility” – Time Out New York
The Jonathan Ellis Family Band is just that, an immediate family who all play and sing, in this case, a bluegrass-style of gospel music. Dad Jonathan plays guitar while his wife Misty plays upright bass. Their oldest daughter Brianna plays fiddle and piano. Brothers Caleb and Benjamin play a mean mandolin and flat-top guitar, respectively and daughter Brinly adds vocals.
Their CDs include, Trust in Him and Let Us Sing!
Formerly from Courtland, MS, the family recently relocated to Mountain View, AR.
